How Rocform Works
Rocform is a synthetic lightweight concrete product that can be used to create a variety of landscaping elements such as water features, rocks and garden sculptures.
Rocmix comes pre-mixed and is supplied in a range of bag sizes.
A typical process for creating a Rocform structure would be:
1. Creating a Foundation
For a fixed structure (like a water feature) a concrete base may be required. For free-standing items like rocks and sculpture this is not necessary.
The actual structure will also need a foundation - something for the Rocmix to adhere to. This will form the base shape that will be plastered and finished to create the rock-like effect. It may be done with a bulky, light and easily contoured product like polystyrene. Another effective base is fine wire mesh (like chicken wire) which can be easily shaped and forms a good base for plastering onto.
2. Applying the Rocmix
The plaster-like compound is applied to the foundation and built up to the depth required. It can be moulded and shaped to create the finish you want.
3. Applying the Colour
A final layer of Rocmix includes pigmentation to create colour and effect.
4. Finishing and Sealing
Your Rocform piece can be sealed to protect the colour and to improve durability.
We have created a short video demonstration of the Rocform process:
