World of Concrete, Las Vegas - February 2009
Angus McMillan Concrete staff regularly attend the annual World of Concrete trade show in Las Vegas.
This year in February Angus, Carol, Tony and Kristina attended the WOC. We all took part in various seminars on a range of topics and then spent the rest of the time exploring the trade show to search for new opportunities to bring back to New Zealand.
As a result of attending the World of Concrete in previous years, we have brought back many new ideas that are now used in our everyday work. While at the show this year we meet a lot of great people that know a lot about the construction industry and found a lot of interesting products and technologies that would be suitable for New Zealand at this stage we are looking at what would be the practical options to bring into our market.
As well as attending the WOC we also found some time to explore America a little more and travelled from Las Vegas to San Francisco. As much as this was a holiday there was still a lot of time spent analysing their countryside and construction side of things. It's very interesting travelling between states and looking at the different challenges that have to be faced and the different types of construction that are taking place.
Master Concrete Placers Association Conference - August 2008
Several of our team attended the annual MCPA Conference in Whangarei in August.
Despite very challenging weather conditions, we had an exceptional turnout and the conference provided a great opportunity for education and networking for our members.
